Michael Shikary Khouri, age 64, passed away surrounded by his loved ones. A beloved husband, father, and friend, Michael was known for his unwavering love for the Lord, his passion for creating, and his deep devotion to his family.

Michael was born in Columbia, SC where he developed a love for working with his hands—a love that would follow him throughout his life. He found his greatest joy when he met and married the love of his life, Terri, with whom he shared many beautiful years. Together, they built a life in Columbia, SC, where Michael founded his own business as a builder, leaving a lasting mark on the community through his work.

Becoming a father to Rachel and Mikey was one of Michael's proudest accomplishments. He took immense pride in providing for his family, not just through his work, but also through the small joys of life, such as cultivating his beloved tomato garden. His skill with his hands extended beyond the job site; he found peace in nurturing the earth and creating beauty in everything he touched.

Michael's spirit was as strong as his hands. He was a captivating storyteller with an incredible sense of humor, always able to bring a smile to those around him. His stories, full of life and laughter, will be cherished by all who knew him.

Though his hands may now rest, the love and joy Michael brought to this world will continue to grow in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him or hearing one of his legendary tales.

Survivors include his wife, Terri; children, Rachel Khouri Tillman (Blake) and Michael C. Khouri; siblings, Anna Khouri Rumsey (John), Deborah Khouri Horne, Florence Khouri Goodwyn (Wade), Joseph Khouri (Robin), and Betty Khouri. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings and siblings-in-law, George Khouri, Jr., David B. Khouri, Virginia Lynn Khouri and Randall Horne.

A service celebrating Michael's life will be held at 12 o'clock on Tuesday, August 13th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with Pastor Brian Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 11 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Oliver Gospel in honor of Michael's memory.
