Mike was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor. You had to stay on your toes around him, or you might miss a perfectly timed joke. He loved the outdoors, especially camping, where the more rustic, the better. His favorite spots were Mt. Mitchell, Lake Murray and Edisto Island.
He enjoyed fishing and golf and spent the past 20 years working at Columbia East driving range, where he built friendships, including with owner Mike Baker.
The family would like to express their warmest gratitude to the staff at the Warriors Walk at the Dorn VA Medical Center.
Mike will be remembered for his humor, his independence, and the countless small moments that made those around him laugh.
A graveside service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at 3 o’clock on Wednesday, May 6th at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends following the graveside at Columbia East Driving Range, 8041 Garners Ferry Rd. Columbia, SC.
