Michael W. "Mike" Powell, 53, of Lexington, died Friday, June 14, 2013. Born August 4, 1959, in Columbia, he was a son of Lomus W. and Shirley Risinger Powell. Mike loved fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie "Ellen" McKaig; his parents of Columbia; sisters, Ann "Prisy" Grimes (David) of Jacksonville, FL and Ann-Marie "Boo" Hicks (Derrick) of Normal, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Dixie, Yo-Yo and Tonto. Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Powell.

A memorial service for Mike will be held 11 o'clock, Monday, June 17th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock.
