Michael Dean Thompson IV, 44, of Lugoff, died Saturday, July 6, 2013. Born April 27, 1969, in Columbia to Michael Dean Thompson, III and Deanette Disbrow Thompson, Michael worked with his dad at Thompson Clearing and Grading. He loved driving race cars and being a mechanic.

Survivors include his parents; his son, Michael D. Thompson, V; his daughter, Heather Thompson and Harley Thompson, all of Lugoff; grandchildren, Taylor and Kaylee Thompson; and sister, Crystal (Jeremy) Coley of Columbia.

A memorial service for Mr. Thompson will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, July 13th, at Spears Creek Baptist Church, with The Rev. Greg Sweet officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
