Michael "Mike" Wayne Utsey, Sr., 61, of Columbia, died on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at his home with family by his side. Born June 18, 1960, in Columbia, he was a son to the late Ann Sawyer Utsey and Melvin "Smokey" Utsey, Jr.

Mike was a huge Clemson Tigers fan and had a love for Harley Davidsons. He was set to retire from Westinghouse in October 2022 with a total of 39 years of employment.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Utsey; children, Michael Utsey, Jr., Heather Utsey (Lance); stepson, Austin Royal (Carrie); brother, Melvin Utsey (Cathy); grandchildren, Cheyenne Utsey, Emory Brazell, and Reid Royal. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his first wife, Raelene; son, Matthew "Ryan" Utsey.

The funeral service for Mike will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Kelly Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday, April 29, 2022, from 6 until 8 o'clock, at the funeral home. The family invites all those attending to please dress casually and/or wear their Clemson, Carolina, or Harley Davidson colors.
