Elizabeth (Millie) Fruit Johnson, 48, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Born in Spartanburg, SC, on April 3, 1974, she was a daughter of Mary Ann Alford Fruit and the late John Phelps Fruit.

Millie was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and the College of Charleston. She was a member of the Debutante Club of Spartanburg and, in college, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. A lifelong presbyterian, Millie was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church where she was involved and many different activities at the church. A wonderful vacation planner, she enjoyed being with her family and friends and spent her time as a devoted mother. She enjoyed volunteering and participating in the Junior League of Columbia, her Bible study groups, the Prayer Matters Ministry, the Hope Sunday School Class, and assisting with the Foot Care Ministry.

Survivors include her mother; husband, Christopher Wofford Johnson; daughter, Evin Catherine Johnson; sister, Catherine Fruit Hanczaryk (Brian); nephews, John Paul Hanczaryk and Cooper William Hanczaryk; father-in-law, Clarence Wofford Johnson; mother-in-law, Dee Evans Johnson; sister-in-law, Evin Elizabeth Johnson; and her four-legged favorite, Duncan. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Curry Wofford Johnson.

The family would like to sincerely acknowledge Shanika and Janet, as well as her other caregivers for their love and support during her illness.

The service for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, July 9th, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 3200 Trenholm Rd, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends following the service in Thompson Hall at the church. A private burial will precede the service. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
