Minnie Seay Peters, 86, of Columbia, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Born in Columbia on February 16, 1926, Minnie was a daughter of the late Loy Dalton Seay and Lavada Mae Cresiman Seay. She was married to the late John M. Peters, Sr. and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Robert (Reatha) Peters of Columbia and John (Elizabeth) Peters, Jr. of West Columbia; daughter, Mickey Sikes of St. Matthews; grandchildren, Robert (Irina) Peters, Jr. of Columbia, Michelle Zeigler of West Columbia, Stephanie Sikes of Hopkins and James "Bubba" (Sandra) Sikes, Jr. of St. Matthews; great grandchildren, Tyler Cogburn, Mickenzie Sikes and Robby Peters, III.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials in Minnie's honor may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 4600 Daniel Dr, Columbia, SC 29206. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the family.
