MSG Bruce Dennis Michalski, US Army (Ret.), 62, of Columbia, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024. Born July 1, 1962, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Irene Michalski and the late Richard Michalski.

Bruce was employed as a Business Analyst by Blue Cross Blue Shield for 20 years and honorably served in the United States Army Reserves for 26 years. He also served as a volunteer Richland County Sheriff's Deputy. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Susan Boron Michalski; sons, John (Kelli) Michalski, Michael (Elizabeth) Michalski, and Christopher (Kaylee) Michalski; grandchildren, Caroline and William Michalski, Zoey and Annalise Allen, Sophia and Grace Michalski, and Hazel Michalski; brothers, Tom (Donna Pelletier) Michalski, Bob (Pam) Michalski; sisters, Nancy (Andy) Brown, Sandra Koshar, Bonnie (Joe) Buntin; mother-in-law, Elvira Boron and the late John Boron; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

A private funeral service with full military honors was held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
