Obituary
Nancy Monteith Black, 80, of Charlotte, North Carolina died Friday, July 28, 2017. Born in Natural Bridge, Virginia on June 27, 1937. She was a daughter of the late Charles B. and Lillie Cabe Monteith, Nancy attended school in Bryson City, North Carolina and Chester, South Carolina.
Survivors include her grandson, William Earl Cochran, IV, of Chester, SC; her sister, Ann Monteith McConnell of Kingstree, SC; stepchildren, Sandra Warner of Charlotte, NC and Jeff Black of Indian Land, SC; step grandchildren, Emily Pichette, Amy Bellinger, and Kenneth Black; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Black; her daughter, Cindy Dove; step-son; Mark Black; and brothers, Charles W. Monteith and Richard L. Monteith.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, Columbia, is assisting the family.
