Nancy Potter Hobbs, 70, of Blythewood, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. She was born on October 8, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, a daughter of the late Billie J. Jones and 1SG Mack Jones, US Army (Ret).

Nancy was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She cared deeply for her family and their happiness. She was her family's holiday cheer captain and loved celebrating the holidays and special occasions with her family.

Nancy was a lover of all canine breeds. She trained and showed several different breeds at the American Kennel Club Specialty Shows. A few of her favorite breeds included Labrador Retrievers, American Boxers, Cocker Spaniels, Miniature Schnauzers, and German Shepherds. Nancy leaves behind a faithful companion who will miss her dearly, a Dachshund named Bentley.

Additionally, Nancy will be remembered as her family's fashion and home decor expert. She was consistently the first in her family to have her home ready for each season of celebration. Her holiday and home décor were always picture perfect and welcoming to all. Nancy loved the outdoors and especially working in her yard. She was affectionately known by her neighbors for her green thumb.

Nancy is survived by her children; William (Wesley) Potter and wife Tiffiney of Columbia, and Vann Evan Potter of Statesville, NC; and her grandchildren, Warren, Riley, and Johnston Potter. She is also survived by two sisters, one brother and three nieces along with their families. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, David P. Hobbs.

The family is planning a memorial celebration of her life at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105. A cause she held dear to her heart and frequently supported.
