Nancy Carolyn Mitchell Holt, 73 passed away peacefully Friday November 5, 2021 surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born January 7, 1948, in Front Royal, VA, she was a daughter of the late Elbia "Buck" Mitchell and Mabel Virginia Robinson Mitchell. Mrs. Holt worked as an administrative assistant for most of her career. She was employed by Hobart/Whirlpool for 18 years and later retired from the Midlands Center with over 13 years of service. Mrs. Holt was a Christian woman and member of North Trenholm Baptist Church.

The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Nancy. She had an extraordinary flair for decorating which was spotlighted in the local Blythewood paper. She also had a love for animal print, refurbishing and repurposing thrift store finds and was an avid and very successful extreme couponer. She brought a sense of joy and laughter into the lives of everyone she knew. Her greatest joy came from her grand and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, James Frank Holt; Children, Tanya Marie Patrick of Knoxville, TN, Tammy Carolyn Quinn (Bryan) of Blythewood, and Trevor James Holt (Sara) of Blythewood; grandchildren, Amber (Kelsey), Taylor (Julien), Harrison, Kathlyn, Lindsay, and Abby; great grandchildren, Arlo, Ridley, and Eloise; as well as her siblings, Joyce Ann Cummings (Glen), Anna Marie Simmons (Jimmy), and Janet Louise Bern (Richard). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Harold Lee Patrick; grandson Aiden Mitchell Patrick, and brother, Elbia "Pete" Mitchell.

The Funeral service for Mrs. Holt will be held at 12:30pm, Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC. Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Monday, November 15, 2021 at the funeral home.
