Nancy Ann Deloache Jennings, 89, of Columbia, died Monday, June 9, 2014. Born on May 29, 1925 in Saluda, SC she was a daughter of the late Mann Deloache and Annie Belle Powell Deloache. She was a proud, determined, and loving person to all who crossed her path, particularly her husband of 68 years, J. D. Jennings, and her children.

Mrs. Jennings earned her college degree at the age of 79 and graduated in the same ceremony as her granddaughter. She was always willing to provide a listening ear, warm smile, and free advice with a touch of built in military take-charge. She retired after working for the State of SC for 20 years.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Jennings and his wife, The Rev. Dr. Angela Ryan Jennings; a daughter, Martha Ann Newbern; grandchildren, Adrienne D. Jennings, Wesley G. Jennings, and Tiffany Ann Felkel and her husband, Willis Harvey Felkel; and her beautiful great-granddaughters, Makayla Lynn Jennings, and Abigail Felkel. In addition to her parents Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Jennings.

The funeral service for Mrs. Jennings will be held at 3 o'clock, Saturday, June 14th at Bayview Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, respects should be sent to Bayview Baptist Church, 5300 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29204.
