Nancy Geiger Noesner, 73, died Thursday, January 26, 2017. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late LB and Margaret Geiger. The oldest of four children, she was followed in birth by Beth, Lucia and Brooker. Nancy grew up in the Denny Terrace area of Columbia and attended Denny Terrace Baptist Church and graduated from Eau Claire High School. Nancy later married and became a mother to three boys; Chet, Chad, and Christian. She and her husband, Gerhard, moved to Charleston with Christian, where she spent much of her time enjoying the natural beauty of Charleston and the tidal creek behind their home. After Christian went to college, she and Gerhard split their time between the ranch house in the country and their Charleston home. She was a loving wife and mother to her husband and sons, a proud grandmother to Rachell Belter, Cullen Belter, Jasper and Brooker Noesner; and great-grandmother to Sonaiah, Richard Jr., and Enoch. Nancy had a lively personality. She loved eating out, enjoying many cuisines. Nancy appreciated music and art, was tickled to tell a good joke, enjoyed spending time with her children exploring the outdoors and loved sharing memories of growing up in a family with deep southern roots. Though she will be great missed by the rest of us, it is comforting to know that she is now with her beloved, Gerhard.

A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, February 4th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Elmwood Cemetery.
