A memorial service for Nina Cox McLellan, 89, of Columbia, will be held 1:30 pm, Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Windsor United Methodist Church, with The Rev. Stephen D. Gaither officiating. Memorials may be made to Windsor United Methodist Church, 9500 Windsor Lake Blvd., Columbia, SC, 29223 or to a charity of one's choice.

Mrs. McLellan died Thursday, November 28, 2013. Born in Robeson County, NC on July 24, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Dola Watts Cox. A long-time employee of J .C. Penney, Nina worked for the company in both Raleigh, NC and Columbia, SC. She was a member of Windsor United Methodist Church, a talented seamstress, and an avid gardener with a passion for growing flowers.

Surviving are her sister, Betty Cox Edens of Lumberton, NC; brother, Lawrence Cox of Homestead, FL; son-in-law, Richard Slaughter Taylor of Columbia, SC; granddaughter, Amy Taylor Wilson of Swansea, SC and her husband, Robert; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Ricks McLellan; daughter, Iris McLellan Taylor; and grandson, Richard Craig Taylor.
