Norah Patricia Hughes Ross, 83, of Elgin, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Born in Warrington, England on April 1, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Norah O'Brien Hughes. Mrs. Ross was retired from Richland Co. School District Two as a Cafeteria Manager.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Calvin Leo Ross; children, David H. Ross (Sylvia), Calvin Paul Ross, Susan R. Luthren (Richard Frierson, MD) and Barbara Ann Ross; five grandchildren, Tiffany Swinford (Sean), Daniel C. Johnson (Becky), Morgan K. Ross, Travis R. Luthren, and Breanna L. Ross; seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, David D. Hughes and Dennis J. Hughes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two siblings, Brian Hughes and June T. Douglas.

The service for Mrs. Ross will be held at 3 o'clock on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext, Columbia with the Rev. Tommy Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 11020 Two Notch Road, Elgin. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.
