Ola Mae Cobb Kneece Sligh, 86, of Columbia, died Friday, October 23, 2015. Born in Columbia on November 28, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Frank William and Margaret Koon Cobb. Ola Mae was an avid painter, and won numerous awards for her work. She loved gardening, fishing, and was a loving mother and grandmother. During her active years, she was a member of Dentsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Tarrants; sons, Rocque (Debbie) Kneece, Jerry (Debbie) Kneece, Mark (Paula) Kneece and Bobby Kneece; grandchildren, Crystal, Nick, Aaron, Jackie, Kelley and Matthew; great grandchildren, Elly and CJ; brothers, Wesley, Herman and Jimmy Cobb. In addition to her parents, Ola Mae was preceded in death by first husband, Bunyon Kneece; second husband, Lewis Sligh; granddaughter, Mary Tarrants; and brother Thomas Cobb.
The funeral service for Mrs. Sligh will be held 2 o'clock, Sunday, October 25th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd, Columbia. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd, Ste #100, West Columbia, SC 29169; or to a charity of one's choice.
