Onie Irene Fleming, 94, of Columbia, widow to The Rev. Dr. C. Alvin Fleming, died on Monday, May 10, 2021. Born May 19, 1926 in Greenville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ben Perry Davenport and Bessie Mae Satterfield Davenport.

Mrs. Fleming was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great, and great great-grandmother. She loved flowers, especially those that came from her own garden, and her cats.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda "Gale" Peake (Freddie); son, Roger Dale Fleming; six grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a great greatgrandchild; and former daughter-in-law, Carolyn Fleming. In addition to her parents and husband of 69 years, Ms. Onie was preceded in death by a grandson; three brothers; and two sisters.

A graveside service for Mrs. Fleming will be held 2 o'clock, Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Alpine Baptist Church Cemetery, 4930 Alpine Rd., Columbia, SC, 29223 with Pastor Barry Spears officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. The family will greet friends following the service. All are welcome to attend, however, in view of the COVID-19 virus, the family request that those who attend be considerate of the health of others.
