Opal Holloman Catoe, 88, of Columbia, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Thursday, February 6, 2014. Born March 3, 1925, in Timmonsville, Mrs. Catoe grew up in West Columbia. She married Bernard Lee Catoe, Jr. on December 21, 1946. She and her husband reared three children: Deborah Catoe Thomas of Greenville, James Bernard Catoe, who preceded her in death in 1990, and Mark Allen Catoe (Barbara) of Columbia. They also built several businesses in Columbia.

A graveside service will be held at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens 2 o'clock, Sunday, February 9th, with The Rev. Stephen Gaither officiating. A reception will be held immediately after the burial at the home of Mark and Barbara Catoe, 212 Wild Cherry Road in Spring Valley.

The family would like to thank Advantage Hospice, Tidewater Hospice, Harbor Chase Assisted Living and The Haven Assisted Living for their loving care of Mrs. Catoe.
