Blythewood - Opal Whittle Wright, 86, of Blythewood, died Sunday, August 23, 2015. Born July 24, 1929 in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Leo Otis and Beatrice Penley Whittle. She retired from Allied Signal.

Survivors include her children, Maxine Cooper, Proctor Wright, Jr., Brenda Timme (Clarence), Teresa Lancaster (Russell) and Calvin Wright, all of Blythewood. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert P. Wright and brother, Melton Leroy Whittle.

A funeral service will be held 3 o'clock, Friday at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia with Chaplain Princetta Pollock officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home starting at 2 o'clock.
