Pamela Fay Cheatham, 60, of Elgin, died unexpectedly, Monday, January 13, 2020. Born in Goldsboro, NC she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Cheatham, Sr. and Mollie Evelyn Burrell Cheatham. Pam honorably served in the US Army for nearly 18 years at various posts around the country and in Iraq, during The Gulf War.
Survivors include Khamis Turpin Bullock (Eduarde); special friend, Frankie; as well as aunts, uncles and a host of family friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Thomas Cheatham, Jr.; and a sister, Angela Cheatham.
A service of remembrance and celebration will be held 10:30 o'clock, Saturday, January 18th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends immediately following. Burial with US Army Honors will be privately held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Prisma Health Midlands Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, 7 Richland Medical Park Drive, Columbia, SC 29203.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Pam's co-workers and friends, Shin Yun, Ronald Parker (little brother). Sharon Beachtold, Ashley McCall, Sentoria King-Wilson, Andrea Johnson, Annette Dingle-Miller, Colleen Alverson, Matthew Sejuit, Kristen Swanson, Tabitha Smith, Stacy Shull, Katlyn Areheart, Cassidy Mercadel, Sherree Colvin (SW Chief) and Cynthia Davis, (Asst. SW Chief).
Pamela's request was that the gathering be of family and close friends. The family also asks that there be no photography or video made during the service.
