Patterson Fordham "Pat" Jacobs, 70, of Columbia, died Friday, December 20, 2013. Born in Charleston on March 22, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Mark Estes and Hazel Virginia Black Fordham. She was a graduate of Columbia College, a former 6th grade teacher, and director of Weekday Kindergarten at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church. Her most important jobs, though, were being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Henry Jacobs of Columbia; son, Mark Ernest (Lisa) Baker of Lexington; daughter, Gara Baker (Daron) Long of Evans, GA; step-daughter, Allison Jacobs (Chris) Pollock of West Columbia; step-son, Thomas Mark (Monique) Jacobs of Columbia; grandchildren, Daniel Baker, Maggie Baker, Seph Long, Bryce Long, Jenna Long, Jarod Long, and Sara Jacobs.

The funeral service for Mrs. Jacobs will be held at 11 o'clock, Monday, December 23rd at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
