Our loving Mother, Patricia "Gale" Hixon went to be with our Lord on October 18, 2023. Born in Bristol, VA in August 1949, she was 74 years old. She was the daughter of the late William H. and Thelma R. Green Melvin, of TN. Gale was strong in the faith with the Lord and was a long standing member of the North Columbia Church of God in Blythewood, SC.

Gale and Tommy built a life with their boys in Blythewood, where her door was always open for a hot meal or place to stay. She loved to cook and bake for her family with her Lasagna being everyone's favorite. Her love for her boy's and daughters-in-law was strong and her grandchildren; well they could do no wrong! She had a love of flowers that could be seen by all the beautiful ones in her yard. Her favorite hobby was doing flower arrangements for family and friends.

Gale leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years Clyde Thomas "Tommy" Hixon, Jr; sons, Steven "Troy" Hixon (Kelley), of SC, Brian Thomas Hixon (Angela), of TN, Trevor Allen Hixon (Michelle), of SC, Christopher "Chris" Todd Hixon (Pamela), of SC, Tod Delmont Seaton (Tiffany), of SC; all of her loving grandchildren; her brothers, William Melvin (Mary), of AL, Phillip Melvin (Tina), of TN; sisters-in-law, Martha Melvin, of SC, Karen Hixon, of SC, Debby Scott (Scotty), of SC, Ginger Ellisor, of SC. In addition to her parents she had the following loved ones to greet her, brother, Kenneth Melvin; sisters, Mary Melvin and Darlene Monk; son, Jeremiah "Jeremy" Sharpe; grandson, Brandon Burr; brother-in-law, Johnny A. Hixon; and sister-in-law, Margaret Stafford.

In lieu of flowers Gale and the family would love you to donate to the St Jude's Children Hospital in her name.

The memorial service for Mrs. Hixon will be held at 2 o'clock, Sunday, October 22nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 o'clock.
