Patricia H. Riley

Patricia Lee Hartz Riley, 79, of Blythewood, SC, entered her eternal rest on September 15, 2026. Born on July 31, 1947, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, she was the daughter of Otto H. Hartz Jr. and Sarah Bernice Reinheimer of Portland, Oregon.

Pat was known for her artistic talents and love of all things beautiful. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Columbia, where she found joy in worship and being a member of the church choir. Her faith was an important part of her life and was reflected in the love, kindness, and warmth she extended to those around her. Her artistic spirit and gentle heart touched the lives of many and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. One of her favorite titles was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is predeceased by her husband, Cecil David Riley Jr. She is survived by her son, Ronny Lee Hicks Jr. (Angie), daughter Lynette Hicks Canada; her grandchildren, Brandon Hicks (Anna), Eric Hicks, and Gracie Hicks, Emily Canada Yonce (Bryson), Will Canada (Denise), and her great grandchildren, Matthew Hicks, Chaston Yonce, Ella Jean Yonce, and Wilder Yonce.

Her memory will live on through her faith, the many lives she touched, and the generations of family she leaves behind.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 11am to 12pm at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, located at 7600 Trenholm Rd Ext. Columbia, SC 29223. A funeral service will follow at 12pm. Burial will take place after services at Greenlawn Memorial Park located at 845 Leesburg Rd, Columbia, SC 29209.
