Patricia "Patsy" Tidwell Bowen, 86, of Columbia, wife of the late Donald Bowen, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Born August 11, 1937, in Camden, SC, she was the daughter of Robert and Inez Croft Tidwell. Patsy was a devoted wife, mom, grandmama, and great mama. She was loved by all those that knew her.

Patsy went to Dentsville High School and upon graduating began her career with Southern Bell. Later she and her husband purchased an insurance agency and began working together. For over 50 years they owned and operated the Don Bowen Co., an Insurance and Real Estate and Development Agency.

She taught Sunday school and served on numerous committees for many decades at Jackson Creek Baptist Church and North Trenholm Baptist Church.

Her greatest joy was her family and hosting events for the family along with her beloved Sunday school class.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Dale) O'Shields of Gaithersburg, MD, Don (Laura) Bowen of Wake Forest, NC, Ron (Stacey) Bowen of Blythewood, SC, eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; three brothers, Bobby Tidwell, Richard Tidwell, and Danny Tidwell all residing in SC.

The graveside service for Mrs. Bowen will be held at 11 o'clock, Monday, May 20th at Jackson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 7778 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC 29223. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
