Obituary

February 23rd, 2024 Paula Kay Betsill Amanlou, age 68, of Columbia SC touched the face of God. She was surrounded by her children. Born in Honea Path, SC to the late Reverend Paul Augustus Betsill, a United Methodist Minister, and the late Katherine Lousie Bouknight Betsill, Paula moved from the mountains of Greenville to the sea on The Isle of Palms.

Growing up as a Methodist minister's daughter, she traveled across South Carolina and developed a passion for people and new places. She enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, horseback riding, and had a special bond with horses. Paula was a friendly and outgoing person who made friends everywhere she went. She had a zest for travel and fashion, a contagious laugh that brightened any room, a love for world affairs, and a vast knowledge of the Bible.

She is survived by a son, Mo Paul Amanlou and his wife and two children of Pawleys Island SC, her daughter, Pari Amanlou and her two children of Centennial Colorado. Anna Paige Betsill DuRant (George) was her big sister, who loved her dearly.

Never shy... she never met a stranger. She will be sorely missed.
