Obituary

Pearl Peavy Hooper, 72, of Elgin, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Born February 7, 1942, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Margaret Bryant Peavy. Pearl was a former member of Holly Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church, and dearly loved line dancing and spending time with friends.

Survivors include her husband, Clay Hooper; son, Scott (Angela) Hooper of Franklin, NC; daughter, Lisa Fisher of Columbia; grandchildren, Jacquelyn "Kaide" Fisher, Joshua Fisher, Matthew Carrol and Logan Hooper; sisters, Ruby Peavy, Betty Frick, and Margaret Rabon, all of Columbia, Patricia (Mack) McLean of Simpsonville, SC; and brother, Thomas (Carolyn) Peavy of Lugoff. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her sister, Alberta Jeffcoat.

The graveside service for Mrs. Hooper will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, May 17th, at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 11020 Two Notch Road, Elgin, with The Rev. George Cashwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Friday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia.
