Peggy Jean Ferrell Safko, 85, of West Columbia, passed away December 18, 2017. Born February 28, 1932 in Carrboro, NC, Peggy attended Carrboro High School and was known for her cheerful personality. She was a dedicated wife, and a caring mother of five children. Peggy was gregarious and humorous. She was outspoken and never met a stranger and lived her life with an abundance of charm.

Survivors include her children, Cynthia Scott, Robin Scott, Vickie Dickinson, Tanya Dooley and John Safko Jr.; as well as five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, John Safko Sr.; and four siblings.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
