Philip Stanley Lewis, 77, of Columbia, SC peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 28th, 2022. He was born in Greenville, SC on November 5th, 1945. Philip was a loving husband, father, and family man, and he never hesitated to let you know how much he loved you. Faith and family were so important to him. After meeting his wife, Becky, she encouraged him rededicate his life to the Lord and get baptized at First Baptist Church. He became a faithful member of North Trenholm Road Baptist Church for 40 years and served regularly with the prayer ministry. Spending time with the Lord was one of his cherished times in the mornings.

Philip and Rebecca's love story is a story about tender love and devotion. They were married at First Baptist Church on April 26th, 1975. For 47 years, Philip cherished his wife and showed her every single day just how much he loved her. From always making sure she had gas in the car to surprising her with meaningful gifts, not a day went by that Becky did not feel treasured. Their love connected them so deeply that on anniversary they surprised each other by giving exact same card to each other.

They were blessed with two wonderful children, who Philip loved dearly. Family was so important as was spending time with them. He shared his love of camping with them, and they adventured across the southeast. He taught his son to bleed Clemson orange, but he was extremely proud even though he graduated in garnet. Both Children continued make him proud from graduations to career milestones and he never missed a soccer game or dance recital for both his children and grandchildren.

Anyone who met Philip knew that he could always make you laugh with a good dad joke. He always came up with a new way to make people chuckle and smile, and his deep laughter is certainly not to be forgotten.

Philip is predeceased by his parents, Olin and Frances Lewis; his brother, Charles Lewis; and sister, JoBeth Paul.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Atkinson Lewis; daughter, Amy Lewis Faulk (Brad); son, Philip Andrew Lewis (Katherine); granddaughter, Savanna Faulk; grandsons, Philip Andrew Lewis Jr. and Beauford Lewis; sister, Jane Crawford; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held for Mr. Philip Lewis at 12 o'clock on Friday, December 2nd at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd. Ext. Columbia, SC. Visitation will be at the funeral home at 11 o'clock prior to the service. A committal service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Rd. Columbia, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials to be made to North Trenholm Baptist Church, 6515 N Trenholm Rd. Columbia, SC, or the Employee Appreciation Fund at Rice Estates, 91 Finley Dr. Columbia, SC.
