Phyllis "Jackie" Jacqueline Cope Livingston, 83, of St. Matthews, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Born on December 27, 1941, in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Angus Jackson Cope and the late Margaret Juanita Jones Cope. Jackie was also the daughter of Ruth Poe Cope whom Jack married when Jackie was 14.
Jackie was a devoted member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she deepened her faith and her love for God for many years. Her generous spirit extended beyond the church through her many volunteer efforts. She gave her time to the South Carolina Quilts of Valor, lovingly creating beautifully crafted quilts to honor veterans throughout the state. Jackie also dedicated herself to helping those in need by volunteering at Harvest Hope Food Bank, one of South Carolina's largest food banks, where over 50,000 meals are provided each week to those facing hunger. Her acts of kindness and service reflected her true character and her belief that anyone can make a difference. Jackie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered as a loving wife, the best mother, and a wonderful grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Clifford Livingston; sons, Larry C. Livingston, Jr. (Deborah Jean) and his daughter, Danielle, and Jack Livingston and his children, Renee and Ricki.
A memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC 29223. A visitation will be held prior to the memorial service from 2 until 3 o'clock, for family and friends to gather.
