Amelia Garden Pringle Hopkins, 53, of Columbia, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Born in Columbia, May 16, 1961, she was a daughter of Sarah Clarkson Moore and the late William Q. Hopkins. Pringle was employed at the University of South Carolina since 1998, most recently as the business manager and human resource coordinator for the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Congaree.
Pringle is survived by her husband of 17 years, William G. Crayton; children, JoJo and Ajax; siblings, Sarah "Sally" H. Livingston, Ann H. Lott (Van), Thomas D. Hopkins (Irene); step-siblings, Thomas T. Moore (Vickie), Rebecca M. Allen, and James H. Moore (Georganna); brother-in-law, Jenkins S. Crayton; and mother-in-law, Betty G. Murdaugh (Vick). In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Thomas T. Moore; and grandparents, Thomas D. and Catherine P. Hopkins, and John G. and Sarah F. Clarkson.
A graveside service will be held at 3 o'clock, Saturday, April 11th, at the St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery, 1151 Elm Savannah Road, Hopkins, SC, 29061, with The Rev. Dr. Daniel H. Hank officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the Church Parish House. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church.
