MSGT Randolph Lee Driggers, US Army (Retd), 83, of Columbia, died Thursday, September 20, 2012. Born in Dorchester, County on November 10, 1928, he was a son of the late, James Allen Driggers and Julie Ann Wyndham Driggers. Mr. Driggers retired from the US Army after 21 years of service. Having served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars, he was a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart and was a member of Woodfield Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Scott and Lynn Montgomery; grandchildren, Jessica Dinkins, Blake Montgomery; great grandchildren, Randolph Dinkins, Emily Dinkins, Jordan Dinkins, Kyle Dinkins; brothers, Willie Driggers, Joe Driggers; sisters, Janie Reeves, Ida Huff. In addition to his parents, Mr. Driggers was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Driggers; a daughter, Julia Ann Driggers; as well as numerous brothers and sisters.
A funeral service for Mr. Driggers will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, with The Rev. Daniel Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock at the funeral home.
