Raymond Jacob Boyce

Ray was born in Richmond, Indiana, then moved at a young age with his family to Elgin, SC. He attended Lugoff-Elgin Highschool and graduated in 1987. After high school, he went on to attend the Citadel, graduating with Charlie company Class of 1991. After college he opted to work on the road and had adventures all over the United States and parts of Mexico. Working for some of the largest industrial companies in the country, he was one of the best in his field, and collected friends everywhere he traveled. He was full of life, energy, and humor in any situation. He always had a story to tell to brighten your day. In 2005 he decided to take a local job to be closer to his mother. That year he met his wife, Lisa. From there, many adventures led to many more friends, and many more shenanigans. They enjoyed camping at Hunting Island, riding motorcycles in the North Carolina mountains, Kayaking and fishing (not Lisa – he actually named his boat “Ruthless” because her middle name is Ruth and she won’t get in a boat!), and so many more good times. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute. He was a bright light in so many lives. He will be greatly missed by many. Ray is survived by his wife, Lisa Boyce; his mother, Elaine Boyce; his brother, Michael Boyce (Dianna); nephew, Troy. Although he did not have children of his own, a few stole his heart at a very young age, and he loved them as if they were his. Ariel Rene Mundy, Alexis Nicole Haley and Kentrez Da’Kai Dixon – you three were his heart. Casual dress – if you ride, please wear your leathers proud! Jeans and tee shirt service – Services will be held February 29th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Visitation with the family is from 1pm-2pm, services start at 2pm. Once the memorial is over, please feel free to join friends and family for a toast to Red at 3 Three Doors Down, 10299 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29229 Our family ask that instead of flowers, if you would like to honor his memory, please donate thru paypal to ringmanforray@gmailcom. He has always cherished his Citadel brother, and 100% of the proceeds will go straight to the Citadel Ring Fund.
