Rebecca Ann "Becky" Flinchum Boyte, 79, of Blythewood, died Friday, April 8, 2016. Born July 31, 1936 in Randleman, NC, she was a daughter of the late Paul Glenn Flinchum and Nellie Mae Whitlow Flinchum. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Glenn (Tammie) Boyte of Columbia, Derrick Eugene (Trina) Boyte of Blythewood; grandchildren, Justin Alexander (Brittany) Boyte, Ashley Rebecca Boyte, and James Odell (Rebecca) Boyte; great-grandchildren, Ainsley Rae Boyte, James Odell Boyte, Jr., Hunter Dale Boyte, and Samantha Marie Dearden; daughter-in-law, Viola Gail Boyte; sisters, Elizabeth F. Henson, Shelby F. Hedgecock (Frank), and Terry F. Caddell (John); sister-in-law, Ailene M. Flinchum; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Odell Boyte; a son, Robert Wesley Boyte, Sr.; a grandson Robert Wesley Boyte, Jr.; and brother, Jackie Glenn Flinchum.

A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Monday, April 11th, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 90 Boney Road, Blythewood, with The Rev. C. Nels Ledwell and The Rev. Robert J. Howell, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Sunday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd. Exn., Columbia.
