Mrs. Rebecca Ann Ginnery, 77, of Blythewood, SC, died Saturday, September 14, 2024. She was born to the late Harry E. Marshall and the late Florence McAuliffe Marshall on May 29, 1947, in Lancaster, OH.
She graduated from Fairfield Union High School in 1965. She entered the nursing program at Bethesda Hospital where she graduated first in her class. She was a registered nurse for 40 years. She was a longtime member of Rush Creek Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted member of the Ohio State Grange. She applied her passion for educating others by serving as Lecturer and serving as the Ohio State Secretary. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had many hobbies including cooking, canning, reading, and crocheting. Her life revolved around her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, William K. Ginnery, Jr.; son, James "Jim" Ginnery (Valerie); and grandchildren, Mason Ginnery, Liam Ginnery, and Reegan Ginnery.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, William K. Ginnery, III; sister, Nancy Jane Marshall Dennis; and brother, James Marshall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Rush Creek Presbyterian Church, 7741 Main St., Rushville, OH 43150.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 11:00 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 o'clock at the funeral home. The service may be attended virtually at ShivesFuneralHome.com.
