Rebecca L. Hopkins, 84, of Columbia passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Born on August 21, 1942, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, she was a daughter of Walter Sidney Lane and Rebecca Price Lane.
Rebecca shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Harry C. Hopkins. Together, they raised two children, Brenda Miller of Chapin, SC, and Keith Hopkins of Simpsonville, SC. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Courtney Tuck (Jordan) of Goose Creek, SC, Logan Miller of Asheville, NC, and Benjamin Hopkins and his fiancé, Samantha Hayes of Lake Wylie, SC; great grandchildren, Norah, Evelyn, and Elizabeth Tuck, all of Goose Creek, SC, her sister, Barbara Neville of Suwanee, GA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rebecca was a graduate of The University of South Carolina, and throughout her professional career worked in various administrative roles in the wealth management industry. A woman of strong faith, Rebecca was a member of New Heights Church, where she sang in the choir, lead prayer groups, and participated in many church activities. Her home was a gathering place for prayer groups and bible studies, where she welcomed all with open arms and a warm heart.
Rebecca was passionate about Clemson Athletics, particularly enjoying the excitement of traveling to watch football games. Since 1996, she was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, sharing countless adventures on the open road with her husband, as they traveled on their motorcycle across the United States.
The funeral service honoring Rebecca’s life will be held at 2 o’clock, Monday, September 21st at New Heights Church, 5501 Broad River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212, with Rev. Richard Fleming and Rev. Mike Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212.
The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary beginning at 12:30 o’clock.
