Obituary
Richard H. Blume, 86, of Columbia, died Friday, September 7, 2018. Born July 15, 1932 in Blythewood, he was a son of the late Paul Leroy and Emma Marsh Blume. He was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church was retired from the Columbia Fire Department. Mr. Blume enjoyed working in his yard eating at Lizard's Thicket with the Columbia Firefighters Retiree Breakfast Group.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Drafts (Daniel), Richard H. Blume, Jr. (Nancy), Tonya M. Blizzard (Leon), Tony Curtis Blume (Tammy) Murray Blume, Glen Horton (Joy Lyn); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Sal Russell and Eula Shealy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Roy Steele, III; and a brother, Leroy Blume.
A visitation will be held 11 o'clock, Tuesday, September 11th, in the fellowship hall at Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Road, Blythewood, with a funeral service to follow at Noon. The Rev. Chris Hanley will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Rd, Blythewood, SC 29016.
