Obituary

Richard Langdon Odiorne, Jr.,79, of Columbia, died Monday, February 12, 2024. He was born in Kingstree, SC on April 14, 1944 to the late Richard Langdon Odiorne and Helen McFaddin Odiorne.

Richard graduated from A. C. Flora High School and attended Clemson University before entering the U.S. Navy where he proudly served for four years. Upon his return, he finished his degree and graduated from Wofford College in 1972. He was a dedicated member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. He retired from the Siebels Bruce Group in 2017.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karen Odiorne; son, Christopher Odiorne (Lauren). grandchildren, Libba Odiorne and Riggs Odiorne, all of Charleston; sisters, Elizabeth Odiorne of Columbia and Helen Martin of Greenwood; brother, Walter Odiorne (Sarah Jane) of Blythewood; and nieces and nephews.

The graveside service for Mr. Richard Odiorne will be held Saturday, February 17, at 11 o'clock at Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 9600 Black River Road (Highway 527) New Zion, SC 29111. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastminster Presbyterian Church for the Christian Life Center, 3200 Trenholm Rd, Columbia, SC 29204, or to Midway Presbyterian Church, C/O Matt Evans, 1730 Corner Road, New Zion, SC 29211.
