Ricky Eugene Jacobs Sr.

Ricky E. Jacobs was born February 14th, 1953, in Columbia to the late Otto and Gladys Jacobs, he passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday October 4th, 2026, at the age of 73.

Known for his joyful heart, infectious laugh and out going nature, he never met a stranger. He was a “jokester” and loved to make people laugh. His greatest joy and accomplishment was preaching the Gospel. He never missed an opportunity to speak of the one who saved him. His most recent ministry was at Lighthouse Fellowship, and he had also pastored at Chapin Community Church. He loved Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior and his children and family.

He had also been a successful business owner/entrepreneur as part of the family business, The Pontiac Plaza known as “Eats” to the local community for many decades. He worked as a delivery driver for General Motors, ultimately running his own delivery service. With the support and direction from his mentor “The Fabulous Moolah” he pursued a career in professional wrestling where he found great success and advanced to the level of WWF/WWE branching off to Open Atlantic coast wresting to train others in the sport from 1985-1991.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Toby Jacobs and his sister, Linda Jacobs Lee Gilbert. He is survived by his children, Crystal (Doug) Berley of Little Mountain, Ricky Jacobs Jr. “Little Rick” of Pontiac, Charles Frederick Otto Jacobs “Little Charlie” of Pontiac; granddaughters, Meagan Berley and Avery Allison Goff, sisters, Marsene Jacobs, Faye Hornsby, and brother, Chris Jacobs; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.

A memorial service to honor Mr. Jacob’s life will be held Saturday, October 17th, at Lighthouse Fellowship, 192 Sloan Road in Columbia. The family will receive friends and loved ones beginning at 11 with memorial service to follow at 12. The service will be officiated by Pastor Stewart Jacobs. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug Berley, Jimmy Wayne Peake, Stevie Peake, Mike Lee, Charles Gibbs Jr., Paul Gibbs, and Lawson Mock.
