Riley Eugene "Gene" Galloway, 65, of West Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. Born on November 6, 1956, in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late James Riley and Lois Crowley Galloway. Gene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Gene served in the US Marine Corps and State Guard. He was a proud American, who loved his country. Gene attended Airport High School and pursued a career as an Auto Body technician. He genuinely cared for others and would help anyone. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and watching drag racing.

Survivors include his son, Steven Aaron Galloway; daughter, Charmaine Elizabeth Jeffrey; grandsons, Kenneth Troy Jeffrey and John Lewis Jeffrey; granddaughter, Amber Nicole Jeffrey; sisters, Kathryn G. Davis and Lisa Peggy Adkins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Donna Lorain Howard; brothers, James Allen Galloway and Ronald Edward Galloway.

The funeral service for Mr. Galloway will be held at 12:30 o'clock on Wednesday, April 6th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1330 Whipporwill Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 11:30 o'clock. Burial to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road Columbia, SC 29229. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel is assisting the family.

Serving as pallbearers are Andy Galloway, Allen Galloway, Tyler Galloway, Dwayne Adkins, Jeremy Davis, and Jason Staley.
