Rita Griffin Cooper, 64, of Elgin, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024. Born in Lexington, South Carolina, on November 8, 1959, she was a daughter of the late Ellis "Pete" Griffin and Winifred Matthews Griffin.

Rita had a passion for riding motorcycles and enjoyed working alongside her husband at C & C Pool Service, a company they owned together. She never met a stranger and had a personality that would light up the room. Rita was loved and will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Gary Preston Cooper; children, Jody Lynn Cooper and Gary "Pete" Ellis Cooper; grandsons, Hayden Holt, Connor Lambert, and Ryan Lambert; siblings, Paulette Hail and Bobby Griffin.

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Cooper will be announced at a later date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
