Robbie Jo Hale Rowland, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and formerly of Columbia, died Thursday, January 8, 2015. Born in Hugo, OK on June 30, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Henry Metz Hale and Edna Littrell Hale. Mrs. Rowland was a long time, active member of Bayview Baptist Church. She moved to Mt. Pleasant several years ago to be near her family. Robbie Jo was a wonderful caregiver and friend, for whom family was everything.

Survivors include her daughter, Dianne (Ray) Tidwell of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughters, Robin (Jerome) Frye of West Columbia, SC, Angie (Kenny) Murphy of Lexington, SC, and Jennifer (Kevin) Schirmer of Kings Bay, GA; great grandchildren, ErrinJoy, Laurel, Trace, Luke, Maddison, Gabriel and Ryley; and her sister-in-law, Bobbie Joe Hale Martin. In addition to her parents, Robbie Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Max Clyde Rowland; her daughter, Joy Charlene Roche; sister, Lorene H. May; and brother, Ray Hale.

A graveside service for Mrs. Rowland will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, January 11th, at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, with the Rev. Derrick V. Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 o'clock, Sunday afternoon at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia.
