Robert (Bobby) Edward Cannon, Jr., 69, of Columbia, SC passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, following a short illness. Born in Waukegan, Il, Bobby was the son of Bob and Carol Cannon. He grew up in Orangeburg, SC, and graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at Clemson, Bobby was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and played baseball.

Throughout life he embodied a servant's heart, always ready and willing to help others. His kindness and thoughtfulness were shown throughout his life by his actions.

Bobby was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed participating as well as watching every sport, but nothing was more entertaining than watching him enthusiastically cheer on his beloved Clemson Tigers football team.

Bobby was a devoted father and loved his family. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and had a long successful career as a representative with Friedrich Systems and Thru-Wall Inc.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Carol Jeffords Cannon; sister, Missy Smoak, brother-in-law, Marty Smoak, and great nephew, Riggs Farmer. He is survived by his son, Trace Cannon and his daughter Adelaide Cannon, niece Caroline Farmer (Justin), great nephews Cannon and Maines Farmer and nephew Marston Smoak.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
