Mr. Robert Lee Church of West Columbia, died Monday, June 24, 2013. Born in Dillon County, SC, he was a son of the late Daniel Murray Church and Bertie Letha Bryant Church. A longtime member of Saluda River Baptist Church, Robert previously served as the Chairman of Deacons. Mr. Church served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and later retired as a laboratory supervisor with NCR. Mr. Church was active in the community as a member of American Legion Post 154, and as a lifetime member of the Sinclair Masonic Lodge #172.

Survivors include his wife, Gracie Carter Church of the home; daughter, Debbie (Pratt) Smith of Lexington, SC; grandsons, Jay (Mandy) Smith of Lexington, Robbie C. Smith of West Columbia; great grandchildren, Mabry and Jackson Smith of Lexington; brother, Daniel Murray Church of Dillon, SC; sister, Marguerite Altman of Johnsonville, SC; half-brothers, Lanneau Hayes of Lake View, SC, Carlton Hayes of Florence, SC; half-sisters, Colleen Lawler of Newcomerstown, OH, Valdean Hayes of Lake View, SC, Helen Holliday of Anderson, SC; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will take place at Saluda River Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, beginning 11:30 o'clock, with burial in Woodridge Memorial Park at 1 o'clock. A memorial service for Mr. Church will then be held at 2 o'clock at Saluda River Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Charles Westbrook and Chaplain Stephen Gantt officiating, and the family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Saluda River Baptist Church Building Fund, 3459 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, SC, 29169.
