Robert Lee Defibaugh IV

Robert Lee Defibaugh, IV, 44, died on Friday, August 7, 2026. Born May 5, 1982, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Defibaugh, III and Ramona Gaye Setty Defibaugh.

A proud graduate of Fairfield Central High School, Robert went on to make his mark in the working world. He embarked on his professional journey with Southeastern Freight Lines and Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company. However, it was his role as the general manager of the Sonic Restaurant on Two Notch Road in Columbia that showcased his leadership and dedication.

An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in fishing and the warmth of campfires. He cherished long car rides with his wife, Amanda “Mandy” F. Defibaugh, and delighted in attending community festivals. His love for animals was evident in his devotion to animals and his advocacy for their well-being. In his spare time, Robert was an expert with computers and enjoyed the simple pleasure of reading. To those who knew him, Robert was a gentle giant with an enormous heart. His selflessness knew no bounds; he always put others before himself.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Amanda “Mandy” F. Defibaugh; his brother, Matthew Defibaugh, and sister-in-law, Ashton, of Winnsboro, SC; his mother-in-law, Beth Ford Scott and her husband, Rod, of Lexington, SC; his favorite aunt, Debbie Wilson of Winnsboro, SC, ; and his paternal grandmother, Velma Defibaugh of Winnsboro, SC. He also leaves behind his special cousin, John Grayson "Scutt" Wilson, along with a multitude of extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thomas William Ford.

The memorial service for Mr. Defibaugh will be held at 3 o’clock, Saturday, August 22nd, at Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene, 650 Ninth Street, Winnsboro, SC 29180. The family will receive guests following the memorial service in the church sanctuary.
