It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert E. Wagaman of Winnsboro, SC announces his sudden and unexpected passing from a heart attack on February 16th, 2025. Bob was born to Lester and Ruth (Parks) Wagaman on March 21st, 1953 in Elkton, MD. He was 71 years old.
Bob grew up on a farm in Elkton along with his six sisters. Graduated from the University of Maryland where he was the football team's manager for all 4 years as part of his work/study program.
In his youth, Bob learned a lot about fixing things at his father's knee, the result being that he could build and fix almost anything…subsequently, there was rarely a Honey-Do-List he couldn't finish! (Just ask his sisters-in-law and neighbors who benefited from his talents).
Bob had a successful sales career in the building supply industry working first for DelMarVa Sash and Door and lastly for Wolf Distributing Company where he was top salesman for many years in a row. When he retired from Wolf, the company had to split his territory into 3 parts because no ONE salesman could service the area the way Bob did and bring in the same amount of business. Years later, this is where this Renaissance man met his Renaissance woman…Alexandra. They married in 2007 and became a real team in both work and play. Bob's love of boats and the water became a very important element of their lives together. In addition to living in Annapolis, MD, they shared wonderful times living on their trawler at Herrington Harbor Marina, in Friendship, MD. While there, they met so many lovely boating friends along the way. The shared memories of "U-Dock" dinners and the weekend trips spent exploring the Chesapeake Bay will be cherished by so many who joined them in those delightful activities and excursions. In addition to Maryland, they shared a few very special years in Palm Coast, FL where as usual, they made many friends and especially enjoyed living so close to the ocean.
Beyond his many accomplishments, Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and the ability to make people laugh. He leaves behind a legacy of smiles, kindness, selflessness, and community service. He volunteered much of his time, talent and treasure to many church missions and programs in his later years; including 2 missionary trips to Ukraine and one to Guatemala with ServeNow ministries as well as one to Tennessee to help with the Samaritan's Purse organization's rebuilding of houses of tornado victims.
Bob will be missed by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 18 years, Alexandra (Titus) Wagaman of Winnsboro, SC. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his two sons from a previous marriage; Chad Wagaman of Lothian, MD., and Justin Wagaman of Alexandria, VA.
Bob is also survived by his sisters; Carol (Calvin) Purnell of Oakland, MI; Linda (Bill) Denver of Elkton, MD; Mary (Gordon) Low of Germantown, MD; Barbara (Dave) Peirson of Ft. Myers, FL; and Janet (Morris) Zwick of Germantown, MD; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister, Ann (Dr. Gary) Collins of Elkton, MD. Bob's sisters-in-law who are grieving along with Alexandra are; Laurie (Robert) Davis of Tampa, FL; Allison (The Hon. José) Cambrils of Loudon NH; Diane Titus of Pittsfield, NH; and brother-in-law, John
(Su)Titus of Sandford, ME.
Bob will be missed by so many people who had the privilege of knowing him. But the list wouldn't be complete without acknowledging Dan and Denise Bennett of Dunkirk, MD., Judy and JB LeGrand of Elgin, SC., Linda Jordan of Bow, NH and his neighbor, Donna Wright, all of whom had a HUGE impact in his life and have given such wonderful and practical support during this very painful time. However, we are all comforted knowing that Bob knew and loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, and that we who know and love Jesus too will be together again some day...for eternity.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 1 o'clock at the Fellowship of Calvert County Church, 6865 Briscoe Turn Rd, Owings, MD 20736.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's honor to his two favorite Christian missionary organizations:
