Robert "Bob" Franklin Fowler, 80, of Lexington, died on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Born on January 30, 1946, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John Franklin Fowler and Dorothy Mabry Fowler Sanders.

Bob graduated from the first graduating class of Dorman High School in Spartanburg. He graduate from the University of South Carolina-Columbia where he earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Bob met his wife, Rometta "Ro" Fowler, at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. They were married on March 28, 1988.

Though he never really played basketball, Bob was involved in the South Carolina United Methodist Conference Youth Basketball League for over 30 years. He served as Chairman of the South Carolina United Methodist Youth Baseball Tournament for many, many years.

Bob was a member of Shandon United Methodist Church and a member of the JOY Sunday School Class.

In addition to his wife, Rometta; Bob is survived by his sister, Andrea Campbell of Charlotte, NC; nephews, Blake Campbell of Charlotte, NC and Jay Campbell (Jenny) of Wilmington, NC; and great nephew and niece, Alison and Matthew Campbell.

The memorial service will be held at 1 o'clock on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Shandon United Methodist Church, 3407 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205 with the Reverend Smoke Kanipe officiating. A reception will follow the service in Player Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made payable to Shandon United Methodist Church with a notation for The Allen Scholarship Fund in care of Shandon United Methodist Church.
