Prior to going to law school, Robert was a Captain in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam.
Robert has been in a law practice with his wife, Linda, since 1984. He was a member of Forest Lake Presbyterian Church where he and his wife, Linda, were married on June 6, 1981.
Robert, better known as Bob, loved his family and friends, often treating them and many others to his fun-loving sharp wit. He always kept his positive attitude throughout the years, notwithstanding his health problems. He loved baseball and was a longstanding and enthusiastic Gamecock Baseball fan.
Bob is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Zeigler Jackson; his sons, Robert Douglas Clyburn (Jessie), Michael Douglas Clyburn (Diane), Brian David Clyburn (Stephanie); his grandson, whom he adored, Maddox Vaughan Clyburn; his sister, Mary Ann Lee (Robert); his brothers, Theodore James (Jim) Jackson, Sr., Charles Thomas (Tom) Jackson (Priscilla) and Stephen (Steve) Otis Jackson; his sister-in-law, Sally Anne O'Bradovich and her husband, Milan; his brother-in-law, Robert Calhoun Zeigler and his wife, Joan; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Linda, who spent many hours with Bob during his last days, wants to thank the staff in ICU at Baptist Hospital for the wonderful, compassionate and loving care that was given to Bob. She also wants to thank friends, Caroline Seigler, Marilyn Davis, Carolyn Duff and Ben Miller for their constant support over the last two weeks of Bob's life.
