Robert Kern, 88, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022. Born on February 4, 1934, in Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Edward and Christine Kern.

He is survived by his son, Robert Kern II (Kelly); daughter, Jennifer Ann Kern Dixon (Kevin Nepaul); granddaughter, Rebekah J. Kern; brother, Richard Kern (Anne); and sister-in-law, Sally Kern. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by loving wife of 63 years, Carol Ann Conklin Kern; and brother, Edward Kern.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Kern will be held at 11 o'clock, Thursday, April 28th, at The Church of The Good Shepherd, 1512 Blanding Street, Columbia, SC. Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers will be said at 11 o'clock on Friday, May 6th, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
