Retiring from the Navy with the rank of Captain in 1963 he became Director of Medical Education at Columbia Hospital, and in 1966 joined the late Dr. Izard Josey in the practice of internal medicine, later with the late Dr. James Owens and Dr. J. Growing beautiful and unusual geraniums was a lifelong hobby appreciated by all who saw his beautiful window boxes. He loved wood working and made very fine furniture for many family members. A woodworking project was always in progress. His wooden tissue boxes were a particular specialty and every family member is proud to have several. He loved words and how they were used. A large and well-worn dictionary was always close at hand.
Barbara and Bob met while singing in the Chorale at the University of Pennsylvania and music was a very important part of their lives. They both sang in the Choir at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Columbia for 35+ years. Bob worshiped regularly at St. Paul's well into his 90s.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Barbara, who died in 2011. He was also predeceased by his only sibling, L. Neil Moxon of Philadelphia, and his son, Christopher K. Moxon of Nashville, Tennessee in 2003.
