Robert C. Storey, 90, of Elgin, died on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Born in Detroit, MI, on November 9, 1930, he was a son of the late Clifton and Jane Ormsby Storey.

Robert was the proud CEO of a family owned and operated equipment leasing company that he started with his wife, Stephanie. The small company had grown to three states with 90 employees. He was especially loved by his employees and many that he encountered. Robert enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and bowling. As a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Robert loved to preach and participate in the Church Choir. In his spare time, he enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, and riding motorcycles; even venturing on cross country trips from time to time.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Trombley Storey; 6 children, Michael Storey, Robert Storey, Diane Storey, Frank Storey, David Erwin, and Daniel Erwin; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The service for Mr. Storey will be held at 3 o'clock, Friday, April 16, 2021, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia with The Rev. Scott Smoak officiating. All are invited to attend; however, masks are required, and social distancing is enforced to maintain a safe environment for all.
